Membership in SCALA at Emporia State University is free. If you are interested in becoming an active member of SCALA, please download and fill out our membership form.

ALA Membership

Membership and involvement in the SLIM Student Chapter does not require membership in the national organization (ALA). However, it is recommended to take advantage of the opportunity to become a member of the American Library Association at the student rate of $28.00.

There are many advantages in joining ALA including a Subscription to American Libraries, the journal of the Association, which provides information about libraries, library work, and current events in the Association. Members also receive 10% on books and promotional items purchased from ALA and also dicount on registration fees for Annual Conference and Midwinter Meeting. Contribute to SCALA

Since membership in SCALA is free, SCALA relies on ESU's associated student government and fundraisers as its primary source of income. In addition to fundraisers, SCALA also accepts contributions.
