SLIM Research Center

Mission of the Center
The SLIM Center for Library and Information Science encourages and supports faculty and doctoral student research while addressing the need for research in the School’s constituent communities.

Goals
The Center for Library and Information Science will (1) foster faculty and student research, and (2) provide the LIS professional communities with the expertise to conduct needed
research.

Objectives
The Center’s goals will be addressed as follows. The Research Center will proactively assist faculty and doctoral students by:

1. Identifying potential funding sources;
2. Preparing grant proposals;
3. Providing administrative assistance for grants management;
4. Serving as a liaison with and research consultant for the information professions in Kansas and constituent states;
5. Providing financial aid and research experiences to doctoral and master’s degree students.
