Institute for Continuous Education:
Library Services Certifcate Program is closed

The Institute for Continuous Education (ICE) is a unique collaboration of the School of Library and Information Management (SLIM) at Emporia State University , the Kansas State Library , the Kansas Library Association and the Kansas Library Trustee Association .

The overall mission of ICE is to offer the highest quality current education for library and information professional staff and trustees in formats that fit their lifestyles.  Each unit of ICE has a mission statement specific to its particular consumer base.

The Library Services Certificate Program was an undergraduate program to support library services by educating library staff members so that they possess the professional philosophy, applied theory, and skills to provide client-centered library and information services in their communities. Unfortunately, a variety of reasons have combined to require the closure of this program.

Closure of Library Services Certificate Program (August 22, 2005)
