Here are some
impressions collected from the coffee break during the Thursday morning session.
Brian Baird (Univ.
of Kansas) said, "I always like to see how our colleagues do things in
diferent parts of the world and in different cultures. It has been very
interesting."
Two LIS students
contributed their impressions as well. Following a presentation in Session One
about information brokering, Denitsa Krasteva, a LIS student at the University
of Sofia, said "No people who do information brokering now are here in
Bulgaria because no one is interested; maybe in the future."
Tatiana Nikolova-Houston, a LIS graduate student at University of
Texas-Austin, added this point: "As a graduate student, this is a good way
to learn beyond the classroom. West helping East is very positive, and at the
right time."
Ms Etleva Domi, the
Deputy Director of the National Library of Albania, noted that as a first time
participant she has found the conference to be very useful.
