Dr. Nancy Thomas
Dr. Nancy P. Thomas received her Ph.D. in Communication, Information and Library Studies at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 1996. Dr. Thomas teaches courses in theoretical foundations of service,and children's literature and programming, in the MLS program, and the research foundations and information psychology courses in the Ph.D. program. She also coordinates the "Archives in the Park" archives and preservation program for SLIM and co-chaired (with Dr. Daniel Callison,IUPUI), the 2002 Treasure Mountain Research Retreat. Dr. Thomas is active in ALISE and AASL/ALA. Recent publications include: Information Literacy and Information Skills Instruction, Applying Research to Practice in the Library Media Center (2004), for Libraries Unlimited,a chapter in Identity Matters: Communication-based Explorations and Explanations edited by Hartmut B. Mokros, and articles in a variety of scholarly and professional journals.
