Dr. Linda Lillard
Dr. Linda Lillard conducts research in the area of information needs and information-seeking behavior of people working in online environments; information needs of entrepreneurs; distance learning: online teaching and library services for distance learners. Dr. Lillard holds a B.S. in Business Education from Penn State University, an M.A. in Education: Curriculum and Instruction from San Diego State University, and an M.L.S. and Ph.D. from Emporia State University. She has lifetime teaching credentials from the State of California for teaching Business Education on the high school and community college levels.
Dr. Lillard came to Emporia State from the University of Kentucky where she was an assistant professor for the School of Library and Information Science. Previously she chaired the
Department of Library Science and Information Services at Central Missouri State University. Dr. Lillard also served as an instructional services librarian at Central Missouri State University during which time she coordinated the library instruction program and library services for distance learners.
Dr. Lillard’s doctoral dissertation, Information Seeking in Context: An Exploratory Study of Information Use Online by eBay Entrepreneurs, stems from her interest in entrepreneurship and her own entrepreneurial ventures. of Library Administration and the Journal of Academic Librarianship.
