Dr. Lynne Cooper Chase
Lynne Cooper Chase conducts research in the area of social informatics, particularly the social and technology issues that affect information networks in state and federal government environments. Her current research employs case study methods to investigate interactions between records managers and systems analysts within information systems development in state government agencies. Her teaching interests include information transfer in private enterprise, technology institutions, policies, and operations, various aspects of information organization, and information architecture. She is active in ASIS and ALISE.
As a private consultant she performed needs assessments for the U.S. Department of Agriculture to facilitate the implementation of a centralized information platform, and for the Florida Panhandle County Library Consortium during a second-generation systems implementation.
Dr. Chase earned her PhD and MLS degrees from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She has worked as the library coordinator for a large insurance company and has an abiding interest in indexing, both as an instructor and a practitioner.
