Responsibilities of Partner/Affliate* Libraries

  1. Assign a mentor to each EDI student in your library
  2. Support the mentoring process with necessary resources, flexible scheduling, etc.
  3. Work with mentor and SLIM to ensure that student meets the following award conditions:
    • Tailor some MLS course assignments to study or provide service to an under-served community.
    • Participate in EDI leadership workshops and institutes.
    • Participate in EDI evaluation exercises.
    • Intern at the affiliate library during summer under supervision of the mentor, if the student is not a library employee. Stipends will be paid from the EDI grant.
    • Serve for 2 years after graduation at the partner/affiliate library or any library in the EDI states.

*An affiliate library is a library which is sponsoring a non-staff EDI student (i.e. student does not work in this library).
