EDI Funding
The EDI is funded with $857,754 dollars as a part of the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) Laura Bush 21 st Century Librarian Program awards of 2006.
The EDI Award covers the following costs for students:
- Tuition and fees
- Books
- Internship stipends
- Academic support: writing labs, remedial tutoring, etc.
- Workshop and conference attendance
- Pre-admission preparations: e.g. GRE classes and exam fees, as necessary
The EDI award covers the following partner organization costs:
- Recruitment and mentoring activities
- Steering committee meetings, such as travel expenses
- Continuing education seminars, workshops and conferences for EDI students and mentors
- Other EDI activities, as deemed necessary
