EDI Award Application Process:

  1. Each EDI award applicant had to be admitted to the degree program s/he sought to pursue at SLIM.

  2. Each applicant had to submit the following application materials the director of the SLIM program in his/her state:
    • A letter of recommendation from the employer/affiliate library indicating that a MLS librarian will be assigned to mentor the student through the degree program and beyond
    • A letter of interest explaining why the student is applying for the EDI and how their professional goals relate to diversity issues in the library profession
    • A Curriculum Vitae or resume

  3. Based on these materials (see above), the state (KS, CO, or OR) EDI Steering Committee recommended applicants to the EDI Central Steering Committee.

  4. The EDI Central Steering Committee reviewed the applications and made awards to applicants.
